Looking for something fun to brighten the dark days of winter? Filmmakers compete within the age categories of 13 and under, 14-18, and 19 and up. Completed entries will be screened in high quality projection at the IMAX Theatre, Uptown Gig Harbor.

The Orientation for the 2019 72-Hour Competition will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on March 9 at the Gig Harbor Boys and Girls Club. All teams must be represented at this essential meeting to complete their registration process. During the orientation, the technical requirements for films will be reviewed with ample time for questions.  Professional guidance and advice will be offered to competitors as well. 

On March 14 at 6:00 PM, team leaders will receive their assignment email revealing the set of required elements for the film. The required elements will include a specific action, situation, line of script, and prop that must be used in the film.

Given the huge turnout at the 2018 Competition’s screening event, this year’s submissions will be shown in the IMAX theatre. This much larger venue will allow for our enthusiastic community of supporters to share the thrill of seeing the creative work of their friends and families all together in the same space. After the films have been shown, there will be a short break for refreshments in the lobby.  The audience will then be invited to take their seats once more for the presentation of the awards and conclusion of the competition.
