Come and see first-hand the work of aspiring filmmakers in our community! The culmination of our 72 Hour Film Competition will be the screening of the films created by our participants. Films will be shown at the Galaxy Theatre on Sunday April 8th in two theaters starting a 2pm. Then join us afterwards at The Inn at Gig Harbor for an exciting Red Carpet Awards ceremony.

Our fifth offering for this season will be Paolo Virzi’s comedy-drama, The Leisure Seeker starring Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren. Based on the 2009 Michael Zadoorian novel of the same name, The Leisure Seeker follows the journey of Ella (Helen Mirren) and John Spencer (Donald Sutherland) as they take one final road trip from Boston to the Florida Keys.

The Gig Harbor Film Festival proudly presents The Music of Silence for the June Monthly Movie Night.  Based on the true story of world-renowned opera singer, Andrea Bocelli, The Music of Silence will move, thrill and chill you to your music-spirit core. Tickets are just $10 per person and can be purchased at the door (inside the lobby of the beautiful Galaxy Theatre). Members get in for free, so be sure to ask us about our membership choices! Seating is first come, first served.

Our Annual Summer Fundraiser is the perfect opportunity for you to get together with friends for an evening of dinner, music, and fun-all to support the cultural and economic vitality of our town! By popular demand, The Friends of Tacoma Narrows Airport and Gig Harbor Film Festival present the 3rd Annual Fly-In/Drive-In Movie Night! Gather your family and friends of all ages for an evening of great local food and drink, vintage planes and vehicles, and an outdoor hangar-side screening of the delightful film, Planes 2.

Our August Monthly Movie Night selection, Leave No Trace, explores the experience of a father and daughter who did just that in the forests of Portland, Oregon. Join us for this gripping glimpse at how, for some, finding complete shelter in this world sometimes means eschewing modern convention. It’s that time again! Come celebrate and support indie film at the 2018 Gig Harbor Film Festival this September 13th-16th! Featuring over 100 films, this year’s festival will showcase the incredible work of over 80 filmmakers from around the world! In addition to the films, we’ll be outdoing ourselves once again with our post-screening filmmaker Q&A sessions and spirited parties, all of which are open to everyone.
