Based on the 2009 Michael Zadoorian novel of the same name, The Leisure Seeker follows the journey of Ella (Helen Mirren) and John Spencer (Donald Sutherland) as they take one final road trip from Boston to the Florida Keys.

The film tells the story of John Callahan (Phoenix), a slacker who, after a terrible car accident, is encouraged by his girlfriend (Mara) and a charismatic sponsor (Hill) to seek treatment for his drinking.
