BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Gig Harbor Film Festival Volunteers are the heart of our organization and a vital part of our festival and year-round events. As the face of our festival, our volunteers go the extra mile to make GHFF the warm, friendly, and fun destination experience it is for filmmakers and film-lovers alike.
Our volunteers enjoy opportunities to meet other movie buffs and filmmakers, see a variety of fantastic indie films, and contribute something great to the community. If you’re looking for a unique way to make friends and contribute to the local arts scene, we’d love to have you join the GHFF family!
I love cinema and the arts. I also love our community of Gig Harbor. I am interested in giving back in some way to both the arts and our town!
I volunteer because I love film & think the festival is a great idea for Gig Harbor.
This volunteer opportunity allows me the means to contribute my skills to a local organization that I feel is important to the Gig Harbor cultural scene.
My son entered a film in the festival and we had so much fun we’ve been volunteering ever since.
The festival is a great event for Gig Harbor. I love movies-especially the ones the festival shows.
MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT
MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT IS BACK!
Join us on the last Monday of each month at 6:30pm at the Galaxy Theater!
We will be screening a double feature of Every Little Thing (93 min) and The Bird in my Backyard (20 min) on Monday, January 26th. Two documentaries about the tiniest of subjects — Hummingbirds.
Every Little Thing offers profound truths in a deceptively simple story. What does it mean to care for another, and what impact does this act have on us? In tending to these fragile yet resilient hummingbirds, Terry Masear finds a sense of healing from her own past. Her diminutive patients — brought into sharp focus through breathtaking, beautifully detailed photography — become memorable protagonists in their own right.
The Bird in my Backyard – In an urban backyard on Canada’s West Coast, a window salesman has created a living laboratory for investigating hummingbird behavior. Citizen scientist Eric Pittman documents the journeys of two female Anna’s hummingbirds as they attempt to raise their young in his urban garden. It’s a story about the childlike curiosity in all of us, the wonders it can reveal, and the doors it can open if we just lean in a bit closer.
We hope you can join us!
