We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed their time, talent and enthusiasm to our annual summer fundraiser. We are sincerely touched by the depth of generosity we have received from our staff, volunteers, sponsors, donors, guests, and board of directors.

Year after year, we seem to exceed our expectations for both fundraising and having the most fun possible while doing it. This event is vitally important to the continued growth and success of the Gig Harbor Film Festival, and we’re truly grateful to all who contribute. Your help has an immediate and lasting impact on our organization and community—we simply couldn’t do it without you.

2017 SUMMER FUNDRAISER EVENT

MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT

MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT IS BACK!

Join us on the last Monday of each month at 6:30pm at the Galaxy Theater!

We will be screening a double feature of Every Little Thing (93 min) and The Bird in my Backyard (20 min) on Monday, January 26th. Two documentaries about the tiniest of subjects — Hummingbirds.

Every Little Thing offers profound truths in a deceptively simple story. What does it mean to care for another, and what impact does this act have on us? In tending to these fragile yet resilient hummingbirds, Terry Masear finds a sense of healing from her own past. Her diminutive patients — brought into sharp focus through breathtaking, beautifully detailed photography — become memorable protagonists in their own right.

The Bird in my Backyard – In an urban backyard on Canada’s West Coast, a window salesman has created a living laboratory for investigating hummingbird behavior. Citizen scientist Eric Pittman documents the journeys of two female Anna’s hummingbirds as they attempt to raise their young in his urban garden. It’s a story about the childlike curiosity in all of us, the wonders it can reveal, and the doors it can open if we just lean in a bit closer.

TUESDAY TRIVIA IS BACK!

Hey Gig Harbor film lovers! Get ready for a night of fun and trivia at O’Looney’s the first Tuesday of every month, from 7pm-9pm. Bring your friends and family along and compete for the chance to win two general admission tickets to the Gig Harbor Film Festival!!
