Gig Harbor Film Festival needs your help in funding our first summer filmmaking camp for kids! Filmmaking is extremely beneficial to kids’ academic, social and personal growth. It provides them with keys to understanding the world around them while also helping them improve cognitive function and development through active learning!

However, there’s a problem. In underfunded schools, arts classes are often the first to be cut. Though some schools have film programs, very little else is offered in the community to supplement this area of interest. While there are a lot of great camps locally for kids who love sports, painting, coding, etc., there are none for kids interested in filmmaking.

We are going to change that! We are currently working with our local Peninsula School District media arts teachers and other community partners to create a rewarding and fun summer filmmaking camp! With this camp, we want to empower our students to tap into their imaginations and express their creative voices.

You can help make this happen! We need to raise $20,000 for a summer camp. An anonymous donor will match contributions up to $20,000. With your support, we can make this dream a reality!
